The Art of Words: EHBC Art Invitational
The Jeffersonville Township Public Library has invited our church to participate in a gallery exhibit with an opening reception will be June 1, 2024.
Create a piece of visual art that is inspired by a poem, song, story, or other written works - select a piece of writing that connects with you. Think about the emotions, imagery, colors, or shapes that it stirs up and let it inspire you to create something that reflects those reactions.
Below are 3 examples of sculptures that were inspired by poems or stories - but this is just to give you an idea of what the process could look like. Your creations might take a more literal or abstract interpretation (ex. a sad poem or song might lead you to paint a picture using lots of blues and greys, or a
All creative art forms welcome! Drawings, paintings, sculpture, fabrics, hand-lettering, mixed media, dried flower arrangements, woodworking, etc.
OR if you are a writer/musician - write a poem, song, essay, etc. inspired by a piece of visual art!
All ages and skill levels are welcome to participate!
